Douglas C. Brown, Sr. is a dedicated and passionate advocate for youth, serving as the Advocacy Director for the Bullies Be Gone Project.
With an extensive background in education and community engagement, Mr. Brown brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role.
Mr. Brown is a retired educator with over 25 years of experience working in a public secondary school setting. Throughout his career, he has been committed to fostering safe and supportive learning environments for students. Prior to his work in education, Mr. Brown dedicated over 29 years to the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks, where he played a pivotal role in developing and implementing programs that benefited youth across the city.
With over 45 years of experience collaborating with communities that service youth, Mr. Brown has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with community engagement. His dual Master’s degrees—a Master of Science in Special Education from National University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from California State University Northridge—reflect his commitment to both academic excellence and effective leadership.
Mr. Brown holds a clear teaching credential in Physical Education and a clear administrative credential from the California Commission on Teaching. These credentials, combined with his extensive experience, make him an invaluable asset to the Bullies Be Gone Project.
As the Advocacy Director, Mr. Brown leverages his extensive background to promote the adoption and implementation of the Bullies Be Gone Project’s comprehensive anti-bullying curriculum in schools, workplaces, and community organizations. His dedication to creating inclusive, bully-free environments drives his efforts to engage with stakeholders, advocate for policy changes, and support communities in their fight against bullying.
Mr. Brown’s leadership and advocacy work are instrumental in advancing the mission of the Bullies Be Gone Project, ensuring that all individuals, especially youth, are empowered to stand up against bullying and thrive in safe, respectful environments.
