Meet Dr. Kathy Cash, D.Div, CPSS
Dr. Kathy Cash is a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army and a Certified Peer Support Specialist.
With a rich history of service, she currently holds key leadership roles within the American Legion, serving as State Chaplain for the Department of California and as the 1st Vice Commander of Jackie Robinson Post 252 in Los Angeles.
Professional Background: Dr. Cash recently retired from the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, where she excelled as a Peer Support Specialist and played an integral role in the VA National Peer Leadership. Her journey in peer support began as a group facilitator with Vet to Vet, a national evidence-based, Veteran-run peer organization. Over the years, she has become a subject matter expert on the value of Peer Support in Veteran care, contributing to numerous panel discussions and research projects across the country. Her dedication to this field led her to serve on the Board of the National Association of Peer Supporters.
Bullies Be Gone Project: In addition to her extensive professional background, Dr. Cash serves as the Executive Secretary for the Bullies Be Gone Project. In this pivotal role, she brings her exceptional organizational skills, dedication to advocacy, and commitment to fostering safe and inclusive environments. Her valued contributions are integral to the success and operational efficiency of the Bullies Be Gone Project, ensuring its mission to combat bullying is effectively realized.
Passion for Advocacy: Dr. Cash is deeply passionate about supporting her fellow Veterans, with a particular focus on Women Veterans. She actively encourages Veterans to “Reclaim your power and step into your purpose!” through various platforms. Her advocacy work is further amplified through her podcasts: “Change Your Focus and Live Life” and “Operation Confidence: America’s Invisible Heroes,” which she co-hosts. Both podcasts are available on major platforms and provide valuable insights and support to Veterans.
Artistic Pursuits: In addition to her advocacy work, Dr. Cash is also a talented artist. She has showcased her paintings and shared her poetry at Pop-up Cafes sponsored by the Veterans Art Project (VetArt.org) in Los Angeles and Sacramento, providing a creative outlet and further engaging with the Veteran community.
Spiritual Leadership: Dr. Cash holds a Doctor of Divinity degree and is the Founding Pastor of Determined to Know Christ Ministries, a national online teaching ministry. Her ministry aims to provide spiritual guidance and support to individuals across the nation, helping them to connect with their faith and purpose.
Personal Life: Residing in Los Angeles, Dr. Cash is the proud mother of three adult children. Her life and work are dedicated to uplifting others, particularly Veterans, through her diverse roles as a leader, advocate, artist, and spiritual guide.
